Jim, I hear you. I think I held the record at my library as a kid. I also trapped for several years here in Ohio as a kid, fueled by that book and stories from both my grandfathers about their boyhood traplines. I stopped later in my teens when other interests took up all my time. Then... life in general. Now I spend my workdays here in computerworld too. But, after receiving a copy of the book a few years ago, I got to missing it all too badly, and soon after took up trapping all over again too. It's challenging fitting it into a busy life, and it takes a very supportive spouse, but a couple of hours a day on the trapline is a great antidote for life in an office. It's also a great thing to share with your kids. And now that the season is over for this year, I at least have pictures from my line on my computer screensaver. I can sit back and look through falling snow down the ice-rimmed creek I was wading through a month or so ago. It's not being there, but it makes life in a cube a little more tolerable. Thanks for stopping in.
