Great to hear more of the visit and I had a couple of people look for me in the government for any donated skin from the Nakina area but like you said it might have been kept by someone else or had fallen apart and by the time computer records were kept it would have been long gone.I don't think that Jim should have felt bad about trapping, some of the words in the book are ones we wouldn't use today to describe people and things but at that time it was used and we can't judge yesterday by what we know now. Smoking being one. I have old magazines in my attic that tell me 15 out of 25 doctors smoke Camel filters! The point of the book was two young men got to run the show and be at the centre of the action while the adults in a supporting role were there to help but didn't get in the way which is why it rang true for so many boys - that could be me stepping up to the plate and testing myself being my own boss and knowing what to do with out being told to do it but still being respectfull of the parents - a great example for any boy to follow. Jim came off as the "older brother" who was serious but could still laugh at himself. He loved his family and was there for them and was much more than just a killer of animals. They used what was around them and it was their way of life.
