I have been on a quest researching Nakina history and as a result some interesting stories have surfaced....fact or fiction....I don't know. Mary Vanderbeck died in childbirth here in Nakina after what was a family melee between her husband Bob Anderson and the boys. She went into labor and bled to death. Ida then married Bob and raised the baby in Hamilton On. I have tried to ontact Mary Helen with no luck. Also another story states that Lindsey worked at Cameron Falls hydro dam project and was electrocuted playing the swatting of towels??? Children in BC probably were before Nipigon. I will be visiting with the elder who related these stories to me again in Dec. Maybe I will find out more.
