In reading your comments I feel the same way. It is comforting to think about the Vanderbecks and TLN. This is my first comment and my life was influenced by the book.I grew up in rural southwest Louisiana and started trapping at a very early age. My trapping buddy Ronnie Atkinson happened upon TLN on the Bookmobile at our little country school. When he read it he told me I HAD to read it. I did, and have read it many times since then. This was in 1954 when I was 13. After that, my ambition in life was to move to Nakina and be a professional trapper. (it never happened, although I did make a trip up there in 1978 to visit)You are SO right Chef Bob about missing our youth. It sure seemed like things were much simpler back then. I'm retired now and spending time again on the trapline and reminising of my childhood days. I've bought copies of Trap Lines North for my grandson's. Julian Campbell
