Edwin W. Mills and TV'S Red Fisher should have gotten together and gone fishing but who knows maybe they did. Anyway, Edwin has written a great book for fishermen and women and shows a "behind the scene" look at some people we read about in TLN. Jim Vanderbeck is hired for a fishing guide on Keezik Lake north of the Albany as is Emile Cote for some excellent fishing on the Drowning River the most beautiful river in the north - so says Emile. In a very readable style Edwin tells tall tales - the fur bearing trout comes to mind and about being careful about rabbits that will use the side of your tent for a slide! There are lots of pictures and maps in the book and a chapter about all the equipment he used from sleeping bags to grub boxes to his favourite fishing flies. Edwin also did a lot of catch and release where as a lot of people may have kept them thinking that there are plenty of fish and what harm is there of taking "a few" more. It's great when someone this great shares a life time's worth of knowledge with the active or arm chair fieherman. Very good book and available from Northland Outfitters (who can guide you to some of the places mentioned in the book) while supplies last - email northland.outfitters@astrocom-on.com
